From a Driveway to a Mission: The Story of Mechanics of Faith

February 3, 2026

Mechanics of Faith began with something simple—faith, a calling, and a driveway.

Pastor Jason Wells founded Mechanics of Faith not in a building or a shop, but in his own driveway. What started as helping a few people with automotive repairs soon grew into working out of a parking lot, fueled by a desire to serve the community with integrity, compassion, and excellence. Over time, that vision became reality with the opening of a dedicated building—marking a powerful step forward in the mission.

But the story didn’t stop there.

Out of that same space, Pastor Jason also planted Redemption House of Prayer, a church rooted directly in the rhythms of daily life and work. Worship, prayer, and service now happen alongside wrenches, lifts, and oil changes—embodying the belief that faith belongs in everyday spaces.

Mechanics of Faith is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to serving the community through automotive repair. While the shop is open to the public for minor repairs to help fund the ministry, the heart of Mechanics of Faith is focused on low-income families and individuals in need of affordable, reliable automotive assistance. By keeping vehicles safe and on the road, the organization helps people maintain jobs, care for families, and move forward with dignity.

What began in a driveway has become a place of hope—where practical help meets spiritual care, and where faith is lived out through service.
